- Thorsheim will provide BT with digital media expertise, strong drive and a passion for newspapers, says Didrik Munch, Bergens Tidende’s Board Chair and Group Managing Director of Media Norge.
Prior to this appointment, Thorsheim was CFO/COO in Media Norge and was a member of the group management team for two years. He will take up his new position as CEO of Bergens Tidende on 15 April 2012.
Broad experience
- Andreas possesses a good mix of experience from all aspects of the media business. He has led projects in the printing works, editorial offices and online newspapers, and sits on the board of directors of Finn.no. He has also worked as a journalist and managing editor. He is a committed product man, and will provide Bergens Tidende with insight and commitment, says Board Chair Didrik Munch.
Thorsheim holds a master's degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen and a master’s degree in international management from the London School of Economics and the Norwegian School of Economics. He worked as product development manager and assistant editor in E24, an online site he was involved in developing between 2005 and 2008.In 2008 he became project director in Media Norge, and led several processes when the group was created following the merger between Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad, Aftenposten, Fædrelandsvennen and Finn.no. These projects led to the creation of Media Norge Trykk and Media Norge Digital, among others.

Move to Bergen
After three years of commuting between Oslo and Bergen, Thorsheim will now move to Bergen with his family.
- It will be good to have the opportunity to work exclusively with BT and the BT organization. I do already know many of the people who work there, and look forward to working with them on continuing to develop the position of the media house, says Thorsheim.
Siv Juvik Tveitnes, CFO and HR Director, has been appointed Acting CEO until Thorsheim assumes his position.
