VGTV won two out of a total of three prizes in the web TV category. The powerful story called “Størst av alt er kjærligheten” (The Greatest of All is Love) about the cancer patient Ida Wassås won the award for best photo reportage of the year on web TV. The jury’s verdict said: “It’s a powerful story told in a worthy way. It hits you straight in the heart”.

The ski and snowboard series “Side by side 2.0” won the award for best series on web TV. The jury’s verdict said: “In an exciting way VGTV opens up to a broad public what’s normally considered a narrow field of interest”.

VGTV aims to continue being a trendsetter within online TV in Norway.

- We will keep a concentrating on our main strength, which is news production. At the same time, we will keep developing the focus on entertainment too. VGTV will be presenting more productions involving high profile personalities, says VGTV’s Editorial Manager Ola Stenberg to VGNett.

Best news page

VG’s print newspaper won the award for best news page of the year with the double spread about Imram Saber, known as “Onkel Skrue” (Scrooge McDuck) among criminals in Oslo.

The story, published in December 2010, is about the day when “Onkel Skrue” was discharged from the hospital after having been treated for the injuries he received when he was hit by seven bullet shots.

The jury’s verdict said: “News presentation and VG at its best. Thorough journalism releases a fantastic image. Simple yet brilliantly crafted.”
