Previously, Finn has been ranked as the second, third and fourth best workplace in Norway, but has never topped the list before. Last year the company was ranked as number four.
- We are very happy and proud to have won such a prestigious award. For a long time now it’s been Finn’s goal to become number one, and we have worked put in a lot of dedicated effort to achieve this position, says VP Organizational Development, Nina Moi Edvardsen.
Clear sense of values important
Edvardsen has been with Finn.no since the company started up in 2000. She believes that a clear sense of company values has played an important role.
- From very early on we decided to be faithful to a set of four values, which are hunger, precision, headroom and sense of humor. These values are well anchored in the company and are present in everything we do. This has played an important part in making our employees feel happy and looking forward to go to work every day, she says.
Rapid growth
In the last three years, Finn.no has grown from 190 to 290 employees, which equals a growth of 53 percent.
- It can be quite challenging to include everybody when you grow so much. Among others, we have been successful at improving the flow of information internally, and the Great Place to Work results are proof of this. The fact that we also have delivered very strong financial results also contributes to making our employees feel like they are part of a winning team. I am incredibly proud of this award, says Christian Printzell Halvorsen, who has been the CEO of Finn.no since 2009.
Focus on employee development
Finn has also placed a lot of focus on motivating and developing the employees, for instance through the training concept “FINNskolen” (The Finn School), frequent employee surveys and rewarding of good achievements.
- Finn is characterized by a flat structure, with an open and unpretentious management group, Edvardsen claims.
In the Great Place to Work survey Finn received high scores in areas such as each employee’s possibilities to develop, sense of pride regarding his or her workplace, the management’s confidence among the employees and the ability to receive recently hired employees in a good way.
