The technical trainee program has a clear focus on product development and technological know-how. The aim is to develop developers and technology specialist who in the future will be key persons for Schibsted Media Group’s companies.
- It is both inspiring and exciting to launch a new program with a focus that our subsidiaries have asked for, in addition to the already existing sales and management trainee programs. We will offer the technical trainees exciting positions in advanced technological environments, both in Scandinavia and in the rest of the world. Their training will be based on highly qualified and innovative content and professional follow-up from leaders who possess technological expertise, says Jonas Behrendt, VP Schibsted Trainee Programs.

A technical trainee program for Schibsted Media Group has been discussed for several years, and I’m extremely happy to see it become reality now, says CIO Dag Wigum.
The technical trainee program will give young talents the chance to work with experienced developers from four different Schibsted companies over a period of two years. This will provide them with a unique opportunity to grow and develop their skills, by working with experts in different technologies.
- The technical trainees will also work closely with editorial staff, product owners and sales representatives. Our best developers work closely with our products, contributing with their personal ideas. Not only do they understand how to build functionality, but also why it is necessary, Wigum says.
